The new recording by István Bátori and Boyana Maynalovska takes listeners on a journey through the musical world of Bologna at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries. Recorded at the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna, the album features chamber music and works for solo organ by academic composers of that period.
The repertoire was brought to light through original research by Bátori and Maynalovska, who worked with historical manuscripts and early prints preserved in Bologna. The recording also highlights the unique sound of the Accademia’s historic Traeri organ (1673), heard here in a rare role within chamber performance.

Last concerts
On May 18, Istvan Batori performed an outstanding organ concert at Ljubljana Cathedral, organized by Filharmonia Magyarorszag and Imago Slovenia. The program featured works by J.S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Robert Schumann, Frank Bridge, and Franz Liszt. The concert was a remarkable event, celebrating the timeless beauty of classical compositions.
Istvan Batori performed two exceptional concerts with the University of Bamberg Choir – conductor Wilhelm Schmids – in Italy. The first concert took place in Bologna at the Church of the Holy Trinity, where the audience was captivated by a diverse repertoire that showcased both sacred and contemporary pieces. The second concert was held in Rome at the Church of Santa Maria dell’Anima, offering a unique blend of classical and modern choral works, highlighting the choir’s versatility and Batori’s masterful organ accompaniment. Both events were celebrated for their exceptional artistry and spiritual depth.
